The Lumen model is crafted with ample opportunity for customization, an open floor plan, handsome roof line, and a blend of sleek design with accessibility. This model’s interior layout was reconfigured to accommodate a pesky sewer tie-in. The owners opted for a bit of a smaller kitchen than the original design and the bathroom remains fully accessible for an aging resident.

They also added some creative and personal touches by installing a repurposed vintage kitchen sink and metal cabinet that looks amazing next to the butcher block countertops. A teal blue accent color on the exposed concrete floor adds an air of whimsy that accentuates the owner’s style perfectly. A local friend and craftsman built a custom front door to welcome guests in.

The windows have been refashioned from the original design to protect privacy in the backyard of the existing house, and a new metal fence defines a front entry court for the new unit that is fully private. This little house functions as a place for Mom during part of the year, and as an Air BnB while she’s away for the summers.
